Are there Bots and/or Replays?

BOTS – REPLAYS

According to Golf Rival Support, there are replay profiles but no bots in Golf Rival.

Replay profiles are profiles you are matched up with, when there are no matching, real players available. They replay games played by real players or developers.

Replay profiles seemingly only appear in stage play, there are (or better, there should be) no replay profiles in the Albatross Arena, in Kingdom, or in any of the rankings.

Ways to recognize replay profiles

There are a few ways to recognize replay profiles.

  1. Club changes
If a game goes to a shootout, and you notice that the opponent suddenly has different drivers, you are playing a replay.

  2. Emoji anomalies
If a game or a shootout right the second it starts has the opponent using an emoji, it is a good indication that you are playing a replay. If the emoji is one which would be used in response to a shot such as “WOW!” or “Nice shot!” or “Unlucky” and the opponent shoots first, it is a sure indication that you are playing a replay. The reason is that the emoji history is retained in replays rather than stripped off, and in the original game, the opponent went second.

  3. Impossible stats
Some stats can only increase: total games, longest drive, and the number of HIOs, albatrosses, eagles, and birdies, etc. But replay profiles can be assigned to any replay on any stage, and you may encounter a replay profile on stage 12 with 2000 games played and 9000 trophies one week, and the next week see the same profile on e.g. stage 7 with only 200 games played and 1500 trophies. See the screenshots of Nexus below for a good example.

  4. Impossible league jumps
Similarly, you may encounter a replay profile in Beginner’s League one week, and the next week see the same profile in e.g. Champions League, or, as with Nexus in the screenshots above, vice versa.

  5. Poorly fitting profile pictures
Some proven replay profiles have profile pictures that fit the avatar frame poorly.
Apparently, images loaded from Facebook accounts for genuine players seem to always fit the avatar frame nicely. Hence it is speculated that poorly fitting profile pictures may be a hallmark of a replay profile.
